A Clinical Psychologist has a generic training in mental health issues
across the scope of problems and ages. They
are trained in a wide range of models and can draw on any while working with
families and individuals. They are also trained in the formal assessment of
children’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses, using a wide battery of
standardized tests. This allows them to advise on diagnostic issues, appropriate
school interventions, and schooling. They can therefore make clear
recommendations for how to support a child educationally.
