    1. "Phantom Bigfoot & The Vampettes From Venus (Phantom Bigfoot Series, #2)" by Simon Okill is another loveable teenage fun read that will make young and old giggle.Okill has created this beautifully odd community called Big Beaver, where young Duane goes round as Bigfoot and plays pranks. Not just for fun and to annoy the community but to protect the real bigfoot. On Duane's back is FBI Agent Vigil, who suspects the identity of the fake bigfoot but needs proof. Then there is the local Sheriff [...]

    2. Simon Okill has done it again. Phantom Bigfoot and the Vampettes from Venus is a fun, fast-paced romp of Bigfoot fun. Again, Duane and his dad are fighting for truth, justice, and the Bigfoot way. But, enter the Vampettes from Venus and all hell breaks loose- literally. There is nothing like Okill’s voice. If you’ve never read one of his stories, stop everything, and go grab one. You will not be disappointed.

    3. It's hard to take a book seriously when its title is "Phantom Bigfoot", but that's perfectly all right because the book doesn't take itself seriously either. Duane Dexter is a bizarre teenager with a double life - as if it weren't already bizarre to be a teenager in the first place. To start, he is the Phantom Bigfoot, and is entrusted with the fate of his fellow forest-dwellers. To protect the real Bigfoot community that has taken residence in the forest, he masquerades as one of them and pulls [...]

    4. You don't need to have had several glasses of the magical Jooobaaa juice to enjoy this yarn but it's quite clear that the author has had more than his share. If you thought Twin Peaks was weird, then you should not go back into the forest to meet this band of characters, some of whom are real bigfoot, some pretend and others out to catch them, including FBI, the local sheriff and yes, Vampettes From Venus who, as well as being a punk rock band are also Vampettes from Venus. I'm coming late to th [...]

    5. Simon OKill continues to engage us as we return to small town American and the forest with the bizzare but engaging Duane Dexter and his forest buddies. The dialogue is funny and memorable and the characters entertaining, hilarious and a bit off center. The Vampettes from Venus, a punk music group, takes the series to a new level of fun and adventure with an already colorful cast of characters. These books are a restful read for me. I don't have to think too much and I can just sit back, read an [...]

    6. If you thought the first in the 'Bigfoot' series was off the wall, wait until you read 'Phantom Bigfoot and the Vampettes from Venus'.Tongue firmly in cheek, Simon Okill whips us through one of the most unlikely tales I have read (probably until his next book comes out). Stuffed with slapstick, invention and easily-relatable characters, 'Vampettes' is a great light read for YA and not-so-YA alike. If you need to be cheered up, and are prepared to suspend disbelief for a few hours, this is a book [...]

    7. I'm reading this series with my twelve year-old son and we're having so much fun, although we are kind of reading it out of order. I love Simon Okill's voice, his whimsy, his sense of humor and his heart. All of those come through in "Vampettes" as our hero, Duane, continues his effort to simultaneously keep the Big Foot myth alive and make sure no one ever discovers the real Big Foot. And I love the campy cover! Highly recommend this as a parent/child read.

    8. Another Raunchy, Ridiculous Uproarious Ride Thru Big BeaverIn the worthy tradition of the first book of the Phantom Bigfoot series, this one did an excellent job sustaining the action and tacky humor. Not that I have anything against tacky humor because I certainly enjoyed it and laughed as much as before. It was as if the author was just getting warmed up in the first episode. One thing I do want to mention, however, is that before you read this or any subsequent ones you should start with “P [...]

    9. Wackier than Jooobaaa happy juice!Simon Okill kills it again with this second installment of his Phantom Bigfoot Series.A couple of shots of Duane Dexter's magical Jooobaaa happy juice ( I drink it on the rocks, fsfsfsfsfsfsfs)is enough to blow anyone’s mind, but just reading Phantom Bigfoot & The Vampettes From Venus is enough to get you tripping. Bathroom humor is alive and well in this romp adventure as Duane, the Guardian of Beaver Forest and protector of the Bigfoot, still thinks he i [...]

    10. Let me start with that old cliché… its not the sort of book I usually go for, but someone suggested I give it a go and I was not disappointed. The story takes place in a fictional (I hope!) Big Beaver Forest, where teenage prankster Duane tries to keep Bigfoot population protected and at the same time keep the Bigfoot legend alive using various (mostly pretty disgusting) methods. Add to that meddling FBI, local Sheriff and her yokel deputies, vampires, ghosts and you get a crazy mix of fun, ad [...]

    11. Phantom Bigfoot & The Vampettes From Venus is one the most hilarious books I've read recently. I guess it's meant to be for young adults as the character, Duane aka the Phantom Bigfoot, is a teen lad, however I definitely enjoyed it. The story takes place in the Big Beaver Forest, where Duane and his friends live keeping the legend of the Bigfoot alive and protecting Duane's identity from the "classic" meddling sheriff. Everything would not be too much out of ordinary until a bunch of punk-b [...]

    12. Let me start by saying, I don't usually read books like this one. Then let me add, I am glad I did! Before you begin this one, you should know that this Bigfoot is not the Sasquatch of the Discovery Channel or National Geographic. This Bigfoot would more likely be found on the Comedy Channel. Simon Okill spins a yarn that combines humor (some pretty corny, but by the end of the book I found it endearing), adventure, mystery, romance, and Punk Rock vampires. Sounds like a crazy story, right? Well, [...]

    13. Simon Okill’s Bigfoot series continue to delight and entertain me. In book # 2 titled, Phantom Bigfoot and the Vampettes from Venus,, Duane – our Phantom Bigfoot protagonist - is up to his old tricks and Okill skillfully adds in several new ones for our intrepid hero to work with. And if Duane and the rest of this rather goofy cast of characters weren’t enough, the arrival of the Vampettes, a punk band, takes the series to new heights of absurd fun. Throw in a haunted house and some burgeo [...]

    14. Bigfoot mayhem liberally laced with toilet humour abounds in this paranormal adventure. The arrival of the FBI distracts the town's sheriff from solving wanton--read "gross"--vandalism of resident's bathrooms. Yes, these odorous crimes warrant the attention of two FBI agents! (Only in Bigfoot world.) Duane, teen protector of his Bigfoot kin, has a precarious hold of his powers, young love is in the air, and there are vampettes on the loose. All the madness combines to form a well-written and fast- [...]

    15. This has been a surprising series for me. I wasn't sure what to expect, but book one was a fun light read about Duane Dexter who is Phantom Bigfoot living in the forest of Big Beaver. As if book one was not filled with enough challenges for this superhero to deal with, book 2 is off to a crazy ride when a punk band invades. Duane figures out that this group of otherworldly women are not what they seem, and they have arrived for insidious reasons that will threaten Big Beaver. With the help of his [...]

    16. Simon Okill’s Phantom Bigfoot and the Vampettes from Venus is one hilarious book of fun laughs. Okill has outdone himself in this, his second book in the series. Not only is there the usual big foot shenanigans, but this time there is a haunted house to contend with, then throw in a love triangle, and you’ve got it all. Nothing in this book is as you’d expect, the one commonality is, everything is big, I mean giant size. With your giant sized glass of magical Jooobaaa juice sit back and wa [...]

    17. Oh I really enjoyed this book. it was fast moving and action packed to the very end. Okill never disappoints rather it be laughter or horror I have enjoyed all his work. The was he talks about the forest. the town and the vamps help you to see the story unfold before your very eyes. Okill knocked it out of the park with his Vampette Rock Band Way to go Okill on a job well done on this one.

    18. once again, another funny read from Simon Okill. comedy and intrigue rolled into one. i like how the characters are easy to get into and make you want to read more. if you are looking for a great laugh, these books are for you

    19. Book #2 of this awesome teen adventure series takes off where Book #1 left us and sends the reader on a fun-filled escapade the likes of which not even Phantom Bigfoot could have foreseen.Duane the WereBigfoot still manages to find time to tease the local law enforcement with his Phantom Bigfoot Bather pranks which escalate to new depths of grossness that will have readers falling off their chairs. So be prepared and buckle up for this rollercoaster ride packed with ludicrous jokes, romance, adv [...]
