    1. Let’s make one thing clear; this book is an HR duck. It looks like one, it talks like one, and it walks like one. Is it formulaic? Probably. Should I have enjoyed it as much as I did? Probably not. Am I giving it five stars anyway? Absolutely. Why? Because fuck you, that’s why. I should start posting disclaimers at the top of my reviews for HRs stating that my opinion probably shouldn’t be trusted. For those of you who know me, you know how many literary pet peeves I have. For those of you [...]

    2. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Tempt Me at Twilight, (stand-alone). The wicked, ruthless & unforgettable Harry Rutledge sets his sights on Poppy Hathaway!“In the fairy tale you mentioned last night, I would probably be the villain. But it’s possible the villain would treat you far better than the prince would have.”Books in Hathaways series are stand-alone, but most enjoyed if read in order:Book 1: Mine Till MidnightBook 2: Seduce Me at SunriseBook 3: Tempt Me at TwilightBook 4: Marri [...]

    3. What can I say? I just love Lisa Kleypas's writing and, as far as I know, she can do no wrong. Okay, I haven't read all her backlist yet, but almost everything I've read so far was excellent. The only exception was Mine Till Midnight, but even so it was good enough and definitely worth reading.Poppy Hathaway is in London for her third season and, as it has become usual, she's staying with her family at the Rutledge Hotel. As the story opens, she's chasing her sister Beatrix's ferret, trying to r [...]

    4. Ahhh.I don't even feel like writing a review for this one except to say "Move over Cam, and make room for Harry!" I found out something about myself--I love a romance where the hero really needs for someone to love him, whether he realizes it or not. And handsome hotelier Harry Rutledge (early 30s), who both wanted and feared affection (due to a heartbreaking childhood)--he captured my heart. Yes, he started out as a manipulative, selfish devil, (the way he got Poppy (23) to marry him), but how [...]

    5. What can I say about this book? After reading the last pages of this novel, at approximately 1 am, I set it down, knowing I couldn't possibly be ready to write a coherent review. Reviews are like soups or dishes with tomatoes and hearty seasonings. They should sit and rest, letting the spices and the tomato paste mingle together, so that the flavor can be maximized. Accordingly, I let myself ruminate in a bovine fashion about what I would write in my review of the latest historical by one of my [...]

    7. 5++ stars – Historical Romance“Her chances of a decent marriage were about to be dashed-and all because of a ferret.” And thus begins the wonderfully romantic third installment in the saga of the eccentric Hathaway family, Tempt Me At Twilight. Poppy Hathaway loves her quirky family, but she yearns for a conventional, quiet, normal, stable, peaceful, predictable, albeit boring, life. She believes wholeheartedly that she’s found her true soul’s desire in her beloved Michael Bayning, who [...]

    8. (4.5 Stars - Edit: Revised on further consideration to 5 Stars)I really enjoyed Harry and Poppy’s story. But I did feel there was a little something missing, hence the 4.5 Stars. (Edit: But now in looking back, I can't bear not to give 5 Stars to each and every Hathaway book, so while I acknowledge there was a little something "missing", I loved it and will definitely read it again!)I especially loved how the description of Harry Rutledge conjured images of Richard Armitage. *sighs* He's so vi [...]

    9. Okay, there is something above adoration??? Because i can assure you that i'm crazy about the Hathaways and their mates.Every book is a new apocalypse and i'm never satisfied I want more and more and moreIs it possible every story to be loved more than the previous??? For me, it is!!!The first book worked as an introduction for me and then i fell in love with Ken and Win and i thought that this couple was my favorite But now after this book i think my favorite couple is Poppy and HarryBut i thin [...]

    10. Harry Rutledge was both a neglected child and an abused child. The only son of an aging hotelier, Harry wasn’t raised in a home where a youngster could run and play, laugh out loud and just be a kid. Even at 5 years old he knew the rules: The Guests come first. Stay out of sight. Don’t make any noise. Don’t do this, don’t do that, don’t…don’t… don’t. Is it any wonder that as an adult, Harry is so rigid, so disciplined and so aloof? One of the richest men in London and one of th [...]

    11. ★4.5★"Perhaps Harry was becoming-or would become in time-the man he had always been meant to be. Because he had finally found someone who mattered."Tempt Me at Twilight is the third book in The Hathaways Series. The series features the lives and trials of the Hathaway family. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. Set in 1852 in London, Tempt Me at Twilight is the love story of Poppy Hathaway and the mysterious Harry Rutledge."And whenever your wife is angryr God's sake, don't try logic." P [...]

    12. ¡Cómo me gusta esta serie! ❤️«—¿Dirías que eres un buen hombre, Harry? Él meditó la respuesta. —No —dijo finalmente—.

    13. Poppy Hathaway longs for a normal life, although she loves her very unconventional family, she wants something more stable and safe, when she falls in love with a man she thinks can bring her happiness, is heartbroken when he turns her away for his title which leads her into scandal and the arms of Harry Rutledge, who is a well-known ruthless hotel owner, known to always gets what he wants “always” and when he lays eyes on Poppy he knows he must have her at any cost but when they marry they [...]

    14. This is not your ordinary review people! I never imagined being so drawn into historical novels. NEVER.EVER. But Lisa Kleypas has done exactly that. I have been introduced into a world woman are treated different, men are superior and there are a different set of rules for everyone. It has captivated me to say the least. But this got me thinking about what itreallywas like 150 years ago. These stories that we all read are all about balls, courting, dresses and chivalry but after taking a deeper [...]

    15. PURE TEMPTATION!!!The Hathaway's are back and better than ever. This is the third instalment of this quirky, fun and unconventional family, that everywhere they go a scandal follows. This is one is about Poppy the intelligent and beautiful sister who is in London searching for a husband. The hunt is on!Harry Ruthledge is an enigma in London everyone wants to know who is, where he’s from. Not everyone is privy to that information and that’s how he wants to keep it. He is a famous Hotelier a ve [...]

    16. It has been a very long time since I picked something up that wasn’t paranormal. But Kleypas’ work makes the transition easy! I’ve only said this about one other author, but whenever I read Kleypas’ books, I don’t feel like I’m reading. Her writing is always so smooth and flawless and every single line flows beautifully. Tempt Me at Twilight is such an enjoyable read! I found myself laughing out loud at some of the lines in here. I need to read the other books!A large part of the rea [...]

    17. A solid Kleypas read with a wonderful "villain" hero and another charming Hathaway sister (3.5 stars)At last!! Another Kleypas novel - now we all just have to survive the wait for the story we've all been waiting for: Leo and "Marks" (or Catherine/Cat, which we learn in this novel is her first name). I completely agree with the reviewer Luckee that this book was definitely satisfying and enjoyable, but there was just a little something missing. Is it worth rushing out to your nearest bookstore a [...]

    18. Loved, loved, loved this one! What can I say? Much as I love a hero who'll fight his feelings till the very last page, I also adore those men who instantly recognize the right woman for them and do anything, and I mean ANYTHING, to hold on to her. Harry will always have a special place in my heart and I have absolutely no doubt that I'll be re-reading this one in the future.Dare I say that I don't have much expectations for Leo's and Miss Marks' story? I'm very reluctant to pick that one, since [...]

    19. I finally got to meet Medusa! Hurray! We have hedgieatkins for weight loss! There was intense Dodger ferret action and of course Poppy and Harry were just lovely. I had a great time and am now working up to the BIG hedgie book! This one was a total win and I can't believe I had these books on my TBR for YEARS and haven't read them. I should listen to my friends more, they all kept telling me these books were great. :)

    20. 4 The Princess and The Villain Stars“Harry. You’re not supposed to court a girl by telling her you’re the villain.”-Poppy****Spoilers****“I’m sure I’ve read too many fairy tales. The prince is supposed to slay the dragon, defeat the villain, and marry the servant girl, and carry her off to his castle.” “Fairy tales are best read as entertainment,” Harry said. “Not as a guide to life.” -Poppy and Harry Temp Me At Twilight, the 3rd book in The Hathaway Series, was a great r [...]

    21. Poppy Hathaway just wanted to marry the man she loved and live a nice, peaceful life. Instead, she finds herself chasing a ferret through the Rutledge Hotel, during which she enters a hidden passage, has an intriguing encounter with a mysterious man, and later finds out that he is the illustrious Harry Rutledge, the absentee owner of the hotel. Despite herself, she starts to like the man but she never entertains any kind of romantic notions about him; those she reserves for Michael Bayning.Howev [...]

    22. I have been reading much of Lisa Kleypas’ popular “Hathaway” series and I have finally picked up the third book in the series, “Tempt Me at Twilight” starring Poppy Hathaway! This novel is just as dramatic, intense and full of hot romance as the first two books in this series and it makes for one exciting read!Poppy Hathaway always wanted a normal life since living with her family, the Hathaways, is anything but normal. One strange night however, Poppy meets up with a mysterious man na [...]

    23. I love you so much that it's absolute hell." She tried to suppress a smile. " Why is it hell?" she asked sympathetically, stroking his nape. " Because I have so much to lose now. But I'm going to love you anyway, because there doesn't seem to be any way to stop doing it." This was so good!!!!! What a fantastic story! I am so late on the Hathaways train! This is my first book I've read of the series so of course I have to go back and read the first two ASAP. I'm a little hesitant about number fou [...]

    24. - New Review – 20173.75 Stars (Re-read 7 years later!)I had no idea I read this seven years ago. Thank goodness for right? Well, I didn’t remember this book at all, so goes to show, if you wait long enough you can re-read a book like it’s the first time!Tempt Me at Twilight is a standalone and is part of the Hathaways series. This is Harry and Poppy’s book. I overall liked this one. Harry was the star of this book. I didn’t think I could read an alpha male in a historical romance but [...]

    25. So far The Hathaways series isn’t a favourite of mine, but I started it and might as well finish it in the hopes that Kleypas will give me another keeper shelf read. Thankfully book 3 starring I-just-want-a-normal-quiet-life Poppy and I’m-a-borderline-Anne Stuart-bad-a** Harry spiced things up a bit –but you have to labor through a good 100 pages at the start before you get to those parts.Poppy Hathaway of the “unusual” Hathaway clan (you’ll know why they’re considered a bit odd if [...]

    26. So, Lisa Kleypas. She's *such* a thing. I'm just not sure I get it. Like how everyone raves about Devil in Winter and I'm all: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I read the first couple in this series pre-GR and wasn't blown away, but didn't hate either. I'm not sure why I picked this one up, stumbled across it whilst in a book loop, I think, and thought I wouldn't mind reading about a ruthless hotelier. And so I did, I read this all the way through, although I seriously could have done without the completely tacked [...]

    27. Yes, this book is my absolute go-for-reread-for-comfort. It simply is. I've lost count of the rereads I did with this one, and I know what some you might think, but no, it never gets boring! Although it's getting to a, in a way, embarassing level of: "I know what Poppy/Harry/Leo/Anyone will say!", I still feel the excitement in the first chapter, the one following that and so onMaybe it's because Harry and Poppy are my absolute favorite LK couple? Or because Harry Rutledge is what Sebastian St. [...]
